Slip softly into the magnificence of Crete.

We begin our ascent to the oldest and most historic mountain of Crete. Let's start in reverse, Diktaean Andron is one of the most important caves in Europe and at the same time a historical and cultural treasure for the Cretans and this is because Rhea entrusted the upbringing of Zeus to the Diktaean Curetes, chased by Kronos. According to legend, the cave was once forbidden to mortals. Awe and emotion for the enormous cultural heritage that Crete has raised since ancient times. Well-preserved monasteries and churches of Cretan architecture compose the scenery of the place among the picturesque villages. The entire place is protected by a Natura zone, which partly shows the importance of the area. And since we are talking about a protected area, it is worth mentioning that during our stop in the village of Krassi we will encounter the oldest tree in Crete, a 2,400-year-old plane tree that dominates the central square of the village.
